Stone Bonding Patterns

Matching historic bonding patterns in stonework.

Recreating the type of stonework found in 18th century buildings and barns required extensive research of historical bonding patterns. To accomplish the homeowner’s desire for historical accuracy, we meticulously matched historic bonding patterns by placing full stones along the wall and cut stones at the corners. Several attempts were made before all elements were matched entirely. However, through strict control of the mason’s installation and adaptation of methodology, precision and period accuracy were achieved.
